Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
I accept Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Mass General Brigham (formally AllWays), Unicare, Aetna, Health New England and Harvard Pilgrim. I am also a Tricare Certified Provider.
If you do not have one of these insurances, I can provide a medical receipt (superbill) for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I accept credit cards, checks, or cash pay. This can include using your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
Can my child receive services if they already have school services?
Yes! Children can receive school-based and private services at the same time. In many school systems, children with articulation deficits and phonological disorders are seen in groups of 2 or more and on a short term basis. In private therapy, your child's needs will be the focus of the entire session.
How long are treatment sessions?
Treatment sessions last 30-40 minutes, with an additional 5-10 minutes to wrap up with caregivers. Clients are seen 1-3 times per week. The Lindamood LiPS program recommends full hour sessions, 4-5 times per week, however this can be adjusted based on your family's ability to meet that commitment.
How do I receive out-of-network reimbursement?
If you wish to submit out-of-network reimbursement to your insurance company, I will provide you with an invoice for therapy, or "superbill". The superbill contains information on the therapy diagnosis, treatment codes, session times, fees paid, and a description of the services provided. Please call your insurance company before your first session to ask these essential questions about your out-of-network benefits:
-
Does my policy cover a licensed speech language pathologist who is out-of-network?
-
My speech language pathologist only reports session dates, CPT codes, diagnosis, and payment. Is any more information required?
-
What percent of the allowed amount will you cover?
-
What is my out-of-network deductible and co-payment?
Do you always start with an evaluation?
In most cases, yes. But if your child has had a recent evaluation (within the last year) in the area in which I will be providing services, then an initial evaluation by me may not be necessary.
If my child didn't qualify for school services, can they receive private services?
Yes! Children often have to be diagnosed with a moderate to severe delay or disorder that impacts their access to education to qualify for school services. In the private setting, I can treat clients with a wider range of needs.
